Introduction
This guide will show you how to correctly export a document from Adobe Illustrator to be printed, and also how to flatten the layers within Adobe Illustrator before printing.
-
-
Illustrator by default has an export option ticked when exporting to PDF.
-
This is called Create Acrobat Layers from Top-Level Layers
-
This should be unticked accordingly.
-
Note that the preset now shows that it has been modified.
-
Alternatively, exporting as High Quality Print or other similar presets will untick this option for you.
-
-
-
To flatten the layers in Illustrator, you can select the layers button on the right hand side.
-
-
-
Use the dropdown button (the one next to the >> arrows) and from there you can select Flatten Artwork
-
This will flatten the layers into one layer which should make printing easier.
