Introduction
This application provides you with options you can set as default on your mac, which will allow things like the selected monitor profile or the dock to be the same on a student machine.

Launch self service and select the Department Customisations category and then the Set Defaults (preference distribution tool)

The welcome screen will launch and you have 3 options, set defaults, import or exit

To set a preference for all users select set defaults and a new window will pop up. From this box you can check the settings you wish to set for all users.

Have selected Set Defaults you should now see a new window providing you with a list of options that you can set as default on a mac.

For example, if you want to set the dock you have set up currently as default to all users on your machine select dock and press okay.

This list of options will expand as time goes on. If there are other defaults you set on your machine that are not on the list and think it should be then please contact client configuration at clientconfig@arts.ac.uk

This will copy the setting to new users and existing users. A screen will then pop up asking if you wish to export your settings. If you select yes they will be stored on the jss server.

You will then see a screen confirming the changes made
