Introduction

This guide will show the difference between the old Zen7 desktop and the new Zen11 desktop. The way you access your applications has changed as well as the way the desktop looks. Please read through to familiarise yourself with the new Staff Desktop.

  1. The first thing you will notice is that the desktop has very few icons compared wth the old desktop (See Step 2). To get to your applications go to the start button then select Zenworks Application Window This will launch a new window that shows all the applications that are associated.

  2. The Old Desktop
    • The Old Desktop

    • Previously many of your icons were located on the desktop. They are now available via the Start Menu

    • Depending on the number of Applications assigned to you or your PC, your menu listing will vary slightly, but essentially you will navigate to your applications from the Start button.

    • If after checking all the menus you cannot find an application you need, contact the IT Service Desk to request it.

    • Once you have been contacted to confirm that your application has been made available to you, you will need to refresh your applications.

    • Right click on the icon in the system tray shown in image 1 and select Refresh The Icon will show spinning dots; once the icon is back to how it was, the refresh is complete and your application will be available.
